Season 1
Episode Guide
Tony Robinson and science journalist Becky McCall venture into the unknown to determine whether past paranormal events deserve serious consideration or belong in history's litterbin in this new three-part series. From the archaeological revelations of Glastonbury Abbey to the Bath housewives who claimed to be possessed by the spirits of a 13th Century religious sect, Robinson and McCall seek to uncover the truth behind classic mysteries with the guidance of historians, scientists and archaeologists. Throughout the series, Tony subjects himself to a range of psychic experiences, including past-life regression, psychometry, séances, and automatic writing. In the first episode, they investigate Helen Duncan, the World War II psychic who was one of the last people jailed under the Witchcraft Act of 1735. Her claims were uncannily accurate, drawing involvement from MI5. But was she truly a threat to national security, and were the ghosts of wartime servicemen revealing secrets she should never have known?
