Veum has left his life as a private investigator, taking a permanent post as a teacher and settling into domestic bliss with his new girlfriend Karin. A brutal confrontation with the past follows when his bitter foe, "The Knife", is released from prison, determined to exact revenge on those who convicted him for the murder of a teenage girl. Soon Veum is deeply entangled in a case that forces a hard-fought battle with his conscience: was he innocent in the girl's death?
