Visite à Oscar Dominguez
An iconic encounter unfolds between a young filmmaker and one of surrealism's masters: Spanish painter Óscar Domínguez, born in La Laguna, Tenerife, in 1906 and who died in Paris in 1957. In Visite, the artist—an admirer of Picasso and a rebellious disciple of Breton—is presented in solitude, far from the bustle of exhibitions and Parisian circles. An austere approach, almost "povera", with no audio, nor flashy camera movements, yet rarely attractive. Why could Resnais not finish his movie? We invite experts to help solve the mystery.
