Amid war-scarred South Sudan as it claims independence from North Sudan and its brutal president Omar al-Bashir, a diminutive, handmade prop plane wings in from France. At the helm is the eagle-eyed documentary filmmaker Hubert Sauper, mining for stories in a land trapped in the past yet careening toward an apocalyptic future.
