What I See
Art student Ian Jing instantly wins over a realism-loving instructor, Mrs. Hui. He follows her guidance by rendering exactly what he sees, his eyes strained in the process. To Mrs. Hui's horror, Ian's drawings grow progressively blurrier. Yet his online presence surges as critics on social media hail his work as a distinctive abstract style. They ascribe deep, profound (pretentious) intentions and meanings to his stylistic choices, even though he is simply drawing exactly what he sees.
