A 34-year-old office lady, Nishida Lixiang, crosses paths with Mitsuko at a party a year ago. Mitsuko, the company president, radiates with grace and luxurious presence, leaving Lixiang to feel the quiet loneliness of a wallflower. From that moment, a subtle feud unfolds between them. She embodies an almost empty boudoir—never asking when the other will arrive and not yearning to become the centerpiece of a shared future. She remains aloof, guarding her own heart. Then, after receiving an invitation from the Cypress couple, Mitsuko even introduces to Lixiang the young Luohe Guiyi as a marriage prospect. Unwittingly, Lixiang steps into the carefully woven trap Mitsuko has laid. This film is adapted from Okabe Yue’s novel “Dazzling Remnants.”
