Andy Burnham Discusses Regional Devolution in Glasgow
Prime Minister Andy Burnham is in Glasgow to discuss regional devolution proposals with nationalist leaders. He’s encouraging them to focus on 'regional empowerment' instead of just financial transfers, although he’s not offering full independence, which Scottish First Minister John Swinney desires.
This meeting is significant as it’s Burnham’s first with Swinney since some recent tensions. Accompanying him are Chancellor John Healey and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, while Defense Secretary Wes Streeting visits BAE Systems Scotstoun.
