Mexico Slashes Auto Parts Duty Exemption To 11 Makers
Mexico's Economy Ministry has hit the brakes on its zero-tariff waiver for auto parts, now only benefiting 11 lucky carmakers with plants in the country. Starting October 14, this five-year rule means importers need special permission for each part, all in a bid to protect jobs and boost local production while keeping things fair and focused on real manufacturing.
