Lancashire Council Leaders Criticize Government Plans

Lancashire council leaders have expressed their concerns about the government's decision to reconsider merging councils. This follows an announcement that they had 'ripped up' a previous plan to reduce 15 councils to four, creating uncertainty that could impact services and staff morale. One leader described the government's rethink as 'Totally bonkers.' The stability of local governance is now in question.
