The African Export and Import Bank (Afreximbank) has reported an increase in the value of Nigeria's trade with Africa for the year 2025.

According to Afreximbank, the total value of Nigeria's intra-African trade grew from $7.47 billion in 2024 to $9.02 billion in 2025.

The bank stated that this growth was partly attributed to higher exports of refined petroleum products to regional markets including Cameroon, Ghana, and Togo.

Afreximbank cited the Dangote Refinery operating at near-full capacity as a factor facilitating these increased exports.

These figures were contained in Afreximbank's report titled "African Trade Report 2026: Leveraging Geopolitics for Trade and Industrialisation in Global Africa".

The report highlighted that African economies' real GDP growth accelerated from 3.4 per cent in 2024 to 4.5 per cent in 2025, according to Afreximbank's findings.
