Injury Status for Georgia and Oklahoma Ahead of Saturday's Matchup
Georgia football provided an update on the status of starting running back Nate Frazier Thursday night, confirming he remains "questionable" for the Bulldogs' upcoming game against No. 2 Oklahoma. The contest is scheduled for Saturday at Sanford Stadium.
Frazier sustained the injury during Georgia's 45-17 victory over Arkansas on Saturday. He left that game with an apparent injury, prompting concern regarding his availability for the SEC opponent.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart addressed Frazier's condition following the Arkansas game, noting that the running back had a "little ding" that was bothering him. Smart stated he thought Frazier could have played if needed but confirmed the team would monitor his status closely.
By Thursday night, Smart described Frazier's status as "day-to-day" and expressed expectation that he would be able to play against Oklahoma.
Alongside Frazier, Georgia wide receiver Isiah Canion and defensive back Justice Fitzpatrick were also listed as "questionable" for the Oklahoma game. Smart indicated earlier that both Frazier and Canion should be fine, though he admitted uncertainty regarding their exact readiness.
Georgia added defensive lineman Amaris Williams to its injury report on Thursday night, listing him as "out." Williams was not included in the team's reporting on Wednesday.
Other players ruled out for Georgia include defensive back Tyriq Green, offensive lineman Marcus Harrison, and defensive lineman Chase Linton. Linebacker Kip Lewis remained listed as "probable" for the Bulldogs.
Oklahoma Reports David Stone Questionable, Jer'Michael Carter Out
Oklahoma also reaffirmed its injury situation ahead of the Georgia game, specifically regarding defensive lineman David Stone. Stone was listed as "questionable" after his knee popped out during practice.
Head coach Brent Venables reported that Stone's pain level was approximately a two out of 10 and that X-rays were positive. Venables noted that Stone had recorded eight tackles in Oklahoma’s 14-6 win over New Mexico earlier in the season.
Wide receiver Jer'Michael Carter was moved from "questionable" to "out" for the Georgia game due to an injury sustained during practice on Monday.
Oklahoma officials also ruled offensive lineman Michael Fasusi out for the matchup. The Sooners enter the game with a 2-1 record, while Georgia faces the challenge of managing its injury list ahead of a critical conference contest.
