APC Incumbent Secures Majority Vote Count
The governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, secured a landslide victory at the polling unit belonging to Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele. The results were announced on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Vote Tally by Presiding Officer
Presiding Officer Elizabeth Oregbemeh stated that Oyebanji polled 164 votes at the location to defeat his closest challenger. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, received eight votes in that same unit.
Oregbemeh added that Ayodeji Ojo of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), who is also a governorship candidate, recorded one vote at this polling station to come third.
Senate Leader Comments on Election Conduct
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election. He commended voters for their turnout across Ekiti State earlier in the day.
Bamidele praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its timely deployment of electoral officials and materials to polling units across all 16 local government areas of the state.
Registered Voter Statistics
According to INEC, a total of 1,059,360 voters were registered in Ekiti State. Of that number, 1,028,929 collected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the election on Saturday.
