Kishan Reddy Alleges Divisive Tactics by CM

Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of indulging in divisive politics and failing to implement the Congress government’s election promises during a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Kishan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was competing with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to create divisions along caste, religion, language, and North-South lines. He criticized Revanth Reddy’s remarks regarding Lord Shiva and Lord Rama, accusing him of attempting to please the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leadership and the Congress high command.

The Union minister also addressed the Chief Minister’s self-description as a loyalist of the Gandhi family. Kishan Reddy argued that Revanth Reddy’s commitment should instead be directed toward Telangana and its people.

Governance Gaps and Electoral Roll Disputes

Kishan Reddy stated there was a wide gap between the government’s promises and its performance. He accused the administration of failing to implement six guarantees and other election pledges, claiming that the Chief Minister was raising controversies to divert attention from governance issues.

On the issue of delimitation, Kishan Reddy rejected Revanth Reddy’s proposal to link representation to Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), calling it impractical. He asserted that a proposed increase in parliamentary seats would protect the interests of southern states and accused Congress of creating unnecessary apprehensions regarding the matter.

The minister also questioned Congress objections to the deletion of ineligible names from electoral rolls. He specifically cited the inclusion of deceased persons and duplicate voters as issues requiring correction.

Infrastructure Questions and Political Preparations

Kishan Reddy raised questions regarding infrastructure efficiency, directing queries at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao about boilers at the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant. He asked about their efficiency in utilizing Singareni coal.

Addressing upcoming political developments, Kishan Reddy said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was prepared for a bypoll in Khairatabad and expressed confidence of winning the seat. He further accused successive Congress and BRS governments of encouraging defections.

Kishan Reddy announced that Union home minister Amit Shah would visit Telangana on October 3. He stated that Shah would attend programs, including one in Karimnagar, on October 4.
