Mark Charges Council to Leave No Stone Unturned

Sen. David Mark, national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), charged the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) to leave no stone unturned and deliver an electoral victory in the 2027 general elections.

Mark issued the directive during the council's inauguration in Abuja on Friday. He urged the newly constituted body to work diligently, mobilize support, and secure a win for the party in the upcoming polls.

The ADC national chairman described Nigeria as being at a critical crossroads. He stated that Nigerians require leadership that understands their challenges, respects their dignity, and prioritizes improving their lives.

Mark emphasized that the party’s responsibility extends beyond winning elections to presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative that restores public confidence in governance.

Campaign Strategy and Voter Engagement

Mark outlined specific directives for the PCC, urging members to reach every state, local government, ward, and community. He instructed the council to engage traditional rulers, religious leaders, women, youths, workers, farmers, professionals, traders, artisans, students, and persons with disabilities.

He cautioned against taking any community for granted. Mark stressed the need to listen to Nigerians, address their concerns, and earn their confidence.

The ADC chairman said the party’s campaign must focus on issues including the high cost of living, poverty, insecurity, unemployment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and inflation.

"Nigerians already know their problems. We do not need to lecture them about their sufferings. We must listen to them and tell them clearly how we intend to solve the problems," Mark said.

Candidates and Electoral Integrity

Mark described the party’s presidential ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi as representing experience, capacity, and national reach.

He advised the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to respond to possible physical attacks with a friendly handshake and insults with smiles, rather than resorting to hostility.

The ADC chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to electoral integrity. He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant institutions to remain impartial, transparent, and professional.

Mark added that every eligible Nigerian must be able to vote freely, safely, and without intimidation. He stated that the party would reject violence, hate speech, and politics of revenge.

PCC Chairman Outlines Economic Focus

Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, chairman of the ADC PCC, urged council members to unite ahead of the 2027 elections. He called on Nigerians to obtain their voter cards and protect their votes peacefully.

Ibrahim-Imam said the campaign would address rising food prices, transportation costs, electricity expenses, education, and healthcare while promoting policies aimed at improving living standards.
