YORK COUNTY — The York County Commissioners voted 2-2 on Wednesday to reject a Pride proclamation for the first time since it was approved by the board in 2023.
The vote occurred with one member of the five-person board absent from the meeting. With four commissioners present, neither side achieved the majority required to pass or deny the measure under standard voting procedures when a quorum is not fully represented for that specific action.
This decision marks the rejection of the proclamation after it was previously approved in 2023.
