Set in a tranquil bedroom-community in Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley, the murder of a professional athlete by two hit men triggers a cascade of consequences that pulls the ordinary lives of a dozen residents into a collision course. This tightly woven crime drama follows an ensemble of characters: two hit men, a mistress, a nurse, a vindictive ex-wife, a wealthy art dealer and his lovelorn assistant, a suicidal writer and his dog, and a bitter cop and his partner.

Some quirky moments, this ensemble interconnected crime-comedy was watchable and the performances from James Spader and Charlize Theron were highlights, but can't say anything really stuck with me. **3.0/5**
