In a not-too-distant future, capital punishment has been abolished worldwide. Criminals are confined to an underground prison carved into the impact crater of a nuclear facility somewhere in the United States, known as Neo Purgatory. A cadre of women—the Guard of Rose—finds itself drawn into the crossfire as the enigmatic villain Donn Canyon launches a mission to "purify the world" through radiation. Can Maki, Naomi, Doris, Marilyn, and Katherine halt humanity's slide toward annihilation, or will the Canyon family prevail in compelling the world's superpowers to concede to their fate?
