"Abandoned" promised to be a thrilling horror film that had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of a wild ride. Emma Roberts, a talented actress, effectively conveys fear and excitement in her role, drawing viewers into a story about her character's unsettling interactions with a neighbor and the dark history of her new home. As the plot unfolds, the movie plunges into terror, but unfortunately, it falls short of expectations due to its muddled storyline and weak writing. Roberts gives a commendable performance, but the script fails to fully articulate the intended message of the film. The reveal of the neighbor as the antagonist was predictable, but the inclusion of random ghosts that felt out of place only served to detract from the overall experience. "Abandoned" had the potential to be much more impactful, but ultimately fell short of delivering the scares and thrills it promised.
