Aconite
In 1590 the Diet of Augsburg declared that gypsies were the spawn of Satan and thus possessed no rights. The verdict allowed Christians to kill gypsies with impunity, prompting the church to assemble a covert cadre of religious assassins to carry out the brutal task. Yet these killers were unaware that the gypsies had forged a protection pact with a mighty werewolf clan, unleashing chaos when the truth surfaced. Four hundred years later, a brutal war rages between the church, the gypsies, and the werewolves, and it falls to a small-town police chief to end the conflict—or die trying.
