TR is born into a wealthy New York family with a steadfast commitment to social justice. He overcomes a severe asthma condition through a grueling regimen of exercise. He rises to the position of New York State assemblyman. Tragedy alters his path with the untimely deaths of his beloved first wife and his mother. To escape his grief, he retreats to the Dakota Badlands to endure the demanding life of a rancher. Upon his return, his political career flourishes, and he ultimately becomes William McKinley's Vice President.
