Movie Background

American Yakuza

After a year in solitary, Nick Davis takes a forklift job at a harbor warehouse owned by the Yakuza patriarch Isshin Tendo. When the facility is attacked by the Italian Mafia led by Dino Campanela, Nick saves Shuji Sawamoto, the Yakuza's representative in America. Shuji then hires Nick to work for the Yakuza, and becomes Nick's godfather in the family following Nick's oath to join the Yakuza. However, Nick is a lonely FBI undercover agent assigned to infiltrate the criminal organization. When the FBI uncovers Campanela's plan for a massive attack to destroy the Yakuza, Nick's boss Littman orders the operation shut down, leaving the dirty work to the Italian Mafia. Yet Nick's connection to Shuji and his goddaughter Yuko compels him to aid his Japanese family.
