Andreyka
During the July Days of 1917 in Petrograd, hundreds of demonstrators flooded the streets, among them the elderly and children, marching under red banners and singing. Suddenly, machine-gun fire erupts from an attic. The dead and wounded slump onto the pavement as detachments of mounted Cossacks surge from the alleyways. Andreika, the son of a St. Petersburg worker, miraculously survives this clash, while Elena’s mother is killed, and with that tragedy Andreika gains a little sister. The Provisional Government issues a decree for Lenin’s arrest. Spies are scattered throughout Petrograd. One of them, Ensign Kolokov, disguised as Uncle Vitya’s janitor, settles not far from Andreika’s house.
