Jughead, after watching an entire movie marathon on television, phones into the station as part of a contest and wins the odd prize—a potato. The next day, something about Jughead seems different, and he begins gifting everyone with more potatoes. It soon becomes clear that the potatoes are being controlled by a powerful spud bent on conquering Earth, and Riverdale's residents are being replaced by potatoes acting as their clones. All except Archie and Dilton, who must find a way to destroy the potatoes before it's too late.
