Baretta
Baretta is an American detective television series that aired on ABC from 1975 to 1978. It originated as a milder offshoot of the successful 1973–74 ABC series Toma, which starred Tony Musante as David Toma, a chameleonlike real-life New Jersey police officer. While Toma enjoyed popularity, it drew sharp criticism for its realistic and frequent depictions of police and criminal violence. When Musante left the series after a single season, the concept was retooled as Baretta, with Robert Blake taking the title role.
