Because of Winn-Dixie
After her mother abandons her when she is three, a girl moves with her father to a small Florida town. There, she adopts an orphaned dog she names Winn-Dixie. The powerful bond between the girl and her new companion weaves the town together and mends her strained relationship with her father.
