Between Us and the World
European archival footage from the 1950s captures the lives of indigenous, nomadic Sahrawi children and youths in Western Sahara / Morocco. Seven decades later, local youths from Laayoune (El Aaiún) revisit landscapes that may have featured in the archival material. From ocean to desert to oasis, beneath a tremulous starlight, they reflect on life, dreams, and utopia as they pursue an uncertain upstream.
