Beyond the Sky

Malboro and Cucu, the central figures, are two brothers whose bond fractures after the elder, Malboro, serves a five-year prison sentence. Upon his release, he is determined to return to his former life. Cucu, the younger brother, has become a rising boxer, whose potential could bloom if the inner demon he keeps inside does not erupt in his darkest moments. The brothers’ relationship remains shrouded in ambiguity, with something unclear that led to Malboro’s arrest. Completing the triangle is Uncle Jesus, a retired boxer who has acted as a father figure and who forever contemplates his past. Sara is Malboro’s great love, a woman weighed down by shame and resentment after nearly abandoning her entire life to follow him, but their escape plan fails because that same night Malboro is arrested by Rojas. Rojas is Sara’s husband, a police officer who hates Malboro and will do anything to get him out of his way.
