Black August
The series follows a criminal investigation into the murder of businessman Paulo Gomes de Aguiar at the start of August. Set against the Vargas government's crisis, the case is taken up by police commissioner Alberto Mattos, an honest and incorruptible man who is not highly regarded by his colleagues, as an environment utterly permeated by corruption surrounds him.
