This animated short traces the sequence of events that triggers an electrical systems failure along the West Coast of the United States. According to the official Blade Runner 2049 timeline, the outage cascades into citywide shutdowns, throws financial and trade markets into chaos, and leads to dwindling food supplies. While there is no proof of what caused the blackouts, Replicants—the bioengineered androids featured in the original Blade Runner—are blamed.
