Bored to Death

Jonathan Ames, a young Brooklyn writer, finds himself adrift after a painful breakup that’s partly fueled by his drinking. He can’t finish his second novel and spends too much time carousing with his magazine editor. Rather than face reality, he retreats into fantasies, moonlighting as a private detective because he longs to be a hero and a man of action.
