Against the social and political backdrop of 1980s Britain, four young men—Boy George, Roy Hay, Mikey Craig, and Jon Moss—formed a multi-racial, ethnically diverse, and sexually liberated band whose distinctive style and sound challenged the era's norms during the New Romantics and Margaret Thatcher's Britain.
