Bugs Bunny's 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales
If Bugs Bunny directed his signature inquiry at today’s Warner Bros. creative team, he wouldn’t be far off. In 1001 Rabbit Tales, a clever reassembly of classic cartoons starring the carrot-munching hare and his bumbling comrades is woven into a feature-length adventure. The setup casts Bugs and Daffy as book salesmen competing to sell the most copies of a children’s book. Rather than heading straight to his sales territory (he should have made a left at Albuquerque), Bugs finds himself in Yosemite Sam’s castle, where Sam rules as a harem-leading honcho. Sam’s pain-in-the-spurs son, Prince Abalaba, needs someone to read him stories; Bugs—who would rather take the assignment than face the alternative of being boiled in oil—signs on.
