Campus
Campus is a semi-improvised British sitcom created by Robert Harley, James Henry, Oriane Messina, Gary Parker, Victoria Pile, Richard Preddy, Fay Rusling and Christian Sandino-Taylor, with Victoria Pile taking on the roles of co-writer, producer and director. Set at the fictional Kirke University, it charts the lives of the staff, led by the power-hungry and callous vice chancellor Jonty de Wolfe; the indolent, womanising English literature professor Matt Beer; and the newly promoted senior mathematics lecturer Imogen Moffat. The series began life as a pilot broadcast on Channel 4 on 6 November 2009 as part of the Comedy Showcase season. A full series followed on 5 April 2011, with the first episode being a reshot and expanded version of the pilot. Critics were divided: some argued it bore too strong a resemblance to Green Wing and that much of the humour was offensive, while others praised its dark humour and surrealism. Ultimately, Campus was cancelled after one series due to poor ratings.
