Two years after a devastating bioterror attack in Shibuya unleashed the Ua virus, Maria Osawa survives thanks to her father's inoculation, though the shock leaves her with partial amnesia. She is employed as a cameraman when she reunites with a girl named Canaan in Shanghai, China. Canaan is a gifted assassin with synesthesia, under the orders of an unidentified organization for a mission that remains undisclosed.
