Cast a Giant Shadow
An American Army officer is recruited by the nascent State of Israel to help assemble its armed forces. He is unsettled by the sudden pull of his Jewish heritage. With Israel facing invaders—Arab neighbors who have pledged to strike as soon as partition is granted—he is named commander of the Israeli forces on the eve of the conflict.
