This film chronicles Berlin's drug scene of the 1970s, told through the tape-recorded accounts of 14-year-old Christiane F. She lives with her mother and younger sister in a typical high-rise apartment block in Berlin. Fascinated by 'Sound,' a new disco with state-of-the-art equipment, she—though underage—asks a friend to take her. There she meets Detlef, who belongs to a clique where everyone is on drugs. Gradually, she finds herself drawn deeper into the scene.
