Cocaine Godmother
At seventeen, Griselda Blanco arrived in the United States with a forged passport, traveling with her first husband, Carlos. Residing in Queens with her three sons, she was drawn to the riches the drug trade offered and soon became entangled with local drug traffickers. Blanco masterminded operations that used beautiful women, the elderly, and even children as mules, and devised false-bottom suitcases to smuggle cocaine from Colombia.
