Code Geass: Akito the Exiled 1: The Wyvern Arrives
Set in 2017 a.t.b., this side story unfolds between the rise of the Black Knights and the return of Zero, believed to be dead. The action shifts to Europe, where EU allied nations are invaded by the overwhelming forces of the Holy Britannian Empire. On the brink of defeat, the EU army forms a special unit known as W-0, in which a young pilot named Akito Hyuga serves. Leila Malkal, a former Britannian aristocrat, comes to the EU’s aid, commanding the Wyvern Knightmare corps comprised of Japanese teenagers. They plunge into a battlefield with a survival rate that is extremely low, about 5%. They fight for their freedom and for a home to which they can return.
