Cruel Summer

Set over three summers (1993, 1994, and 1995) in a small Texas town, the story centers on Kate, a beautiful, popular teen who is abducted, while seemingly unrelated, Jeanette evolves from a sweet, awkward outlier into the town's most popular girl and, by 1995, the most despised person in America.
