Dave vs. Hollywood
Dave, an aspiring actor, relocates to Los Angeles with zero industry connections. Humiliations and indignities quickly mount as he struggles in vain to break in. After a fruitless pursuit, he resolves to blaze his own trail through an unorthodox, 'anything goes' strategy: he taps into AA networks for potential connections; aligns with Scientology to broaden his contacts; even contemplates donating a kidney to an aging movie star in exchange for a role in the star's film; and hatches a provocative gambit—leaving his headshot and reel on the windshields of cars parked outside the Brentwood church where a funeral for a studio executive is taking place.
