Des traîtres dans la Résistance

In May 1943, Ernst Kaltenbrunner, the newly appointed head of the Reich Central Security Office, delivered to Hitler a detailed report outlining the organization of the French Resistance. Throughout the Second World War, most Resistance networks were infiltrated by traitors—the V Man, trusted men in the service of the occupier. The Germans had established treason as a system, and recruiting French informants became a top priority. These French informants, estimated at between 20,000 and 30,000, dealt terrible blows to the Resistance.
