Diamonds. Theft
Set during Lenin's NEP era, this poetic film follows a ballet dancer who steals a brooch and presents it to another dancer in a crime born of passion. A mysterious black ball pursues the heroine. She escapes it and, in an exquisite pirouette, delivers the brooch—its shine rivaling the facets of a diamond. What gives a stone its dazzling luster are its polished facets, but the true gem is love, far harder to obtain than any diamond in the world.
