Divine Words
Mari Gaila (Silvia Pinal) is an adulteress who dwells among ragged thieves, prostitutes, dwarfs and other misshapen beings inside a rare box, in a distant land and a vaguely defined era. Her husband, a poor sacristan, conspires with other relatives to profit from the display of his orphaned nephew, a dwarf with an intellectual disability. Caught in the act of adultery with her lover, Mari Gaila is caged naked and subjected to public punishment.
