Men Ke, a corporate drone and office worker, spent the first half of her life so stupefied by monotony that she questioned her very existence. In the second half, a perilous reality looms - boredom could literally kill her. Each day she faces the specter of death while still reporting for duty. The tale centers on this Earthling heroine and a keen but clumsy alien savior who longs to rescue her. Together, they must discover a path to transcend ennui and live with a smile.
