Down Periscope
Lieutenant Commander Tom Dodge is a maverick within the Navy, never a textbook officer, yet his brilliance as a seaman fuels his lifelong dream to command a nuclear submarine. He’s been given one final chance to clean up his record. Unfortunately, Admiral Graham, his nemesis, would rather sink the fleet than grant Dodge his own boat. So Graham stacks the deck against him and assigns Dodge to Stingray, a diesel-powered World War II submarine that can barely stay afloat. To complicate matters, Dodge’s crew is a collection of maladjusted, mistake-prone misfits. Then he is branded the enemy in a crucial war game and ordered to take on the U.S. Navy’s best.
