Eddie
Eddie is a New York limo driver and a die-hard devotee of the New York Knicks. As the team meanders through a middling season, the new owner, 'Wild Bill' Burgess, mounts a public relations gambit—a midseason 'honorary coach' contest—that Eddie wins. The fans respond with enthusiasm, and Burgess fires the current coach and hires her. She then takes the helm of the roster of overpaid prima donnas.
