Moments after receiving his graduate diploma, Jacob waits at a train station. The future lies ahead, but life suddenly intervenes. A torrent of images flashes through Jacob’s mind: war, injustice, assassination, protest, the entire spectrum of 1960s angst and anger—propelling him into a catatonic state. What follows during his peculiar rehabilitation and its aftermath will constitute another form of madness.
