Season 1

In the first episode, Ewan, who has served as a UNICEF ambassador for eight years, travels along a route through India. In a nation with a rapidly growing, highly mobile population, the cold chain becomes a race against time to prevent polio from entering the country and spreading. From India, Ewan continues into the remote wilderness of Nepal. He faces a punishing two-day trek to reach a small community isolated high in the Himalayas, after first attempting to land on one of the world’s most dangerous airstrips.
