Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids is an animated series created, produced, and hosted by comedian Bill Cosby, who also voices Fat Albert and several other characters. Filmation served as the production company. The program premiered in 1972 and ran through 1985. Based on Cosby’s recollections of his childhood gang, the show centers on Albert and his friends. Each episode delivers an educational lesson, underscored by Cosby’s live-action segments. In early episodes, the gang typically gathered in their North Philadelphia junkyard to close out with a rock song performed on cobbled-together instruments.
