By the early twentieth century, Nuremberg was regarded as Europe’s most anti-Semitic city. In 1929, Hitler designated Nuremberg as the 'City of the Party Rallies,' turning it into a symbol of the perceived grandeur of the German Empire. Even today, signs in Nuremberg attest to the megalomaniac proportions that the regime would come to embody.
